Bottle and can recycling locations

Use the interactive Yarddy locator to search for nearby recycling centers that may accept eligible bottles, cans, and beverage containers.

Before visiting a recycling center

  • Check labels and local rules instead of assuming every container is eligible.
  • Empty remaining liquid and keep containers reasonably clean.
  • Sort materials when the receiving location requires it.
  • Ask whether the site pays by count or weight.
  • Confirm hours, daily limits, and whether the site is staffed.

Redemption center or curbside bin?

Use a certified redemption location when eligible containers may qualify for a refund and the trip is worthwhile. Use curbside or municipal recycling for accepted materials when convenience matters more than redemption. Local rules determine what belongs in each stream.

Frequently asked questions

Are all bottles and cans eligible for a refund?

No. Eligibility depends on the state, container, beverage, labeling, and local program.

Should containers be crushed first?

Do not assume so. Some centers use counting or reverse-vending equipment and may require containers to remain identifiable.
